The New York Branch of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society invites you to join the worldwide community of dancers who thrill to fast-moving jigs and reels and stately strathspeys. Learn or polish your dancing skills in the friendly atmosphere of our classes. Share the joys of Scottish dancing and pageantry at our parties and Highland Balls. All welcome! No experience necessary! Come with or without a partner.
Fourth Series Basic Class Format. We are offering a continuation of the third series basic class package for the fourth series (April 13 - June 15, 2017). The same $50 package price includes nine classes as well as our annual general meeting, and is open to all current basic class dancers. If you have previous dance experience but were not in third series class, please . Any other new dancers are welcome to join us in the fall, or to check out Scotia Dancers on Monday nights in the meantime.
New Basic Class Format. For our next series of classes (February 9 - March 30, 2017), we have restructured the basic class and are offering a significant discount for beginner dancers. Newcomers are required to sign up for the full series of eight classes, but at a special reduced package price of $50. Each evening will include a warmup, class, tea break, and one dance after the break with the experienced class. (There will be no changes for current experienced dancers.) Flyer

The meeting is held during the break in our regular class evening at St. Bart's (the usual class location). Voting is restricted to branch members. All attendees dance for free this evening.
