Membership

We invite all who want to support Scottish Country Dance to become members of the RSCDS New York Branch. Member benefits include:

  • Reduced rate for NY Branch classes (you will save money if you attend at least 17 classes per year)

  • Discounts at many RSCDS events around the world

  • Eligibility for the Joan Treble Scholarship (for events with an educational component)

  • Preference when applying to New York Branch events where space is limited

  • Eligibility to apply for the RSCDS Summer School in St. Andrews, Scotland

  • Eligibility to apply for the Teachers’ Association of Canada (TAC) Summer School

  • Eligibility to vote at the NY Branch Annual General Meeting

  • The official RSCDS magazine, Scottish Country Dancer

  • Discounts at the RSCDS website

Most importantly, you will be making a vital contribution to Scottish Country Dance teacher training as well as the advancement of Scottish Country Dance both in the New York area and worldwide!

We also welcome contributions for Branch general operating funds, the Auslander Music Fund (used to bring musicians to play for major Branch events), the Joan Treble Scholarship Fund (open to members seeking to participate in Scottish Country Dance training courses and workshops), and the Ann Hankins Memorial Scholarship (for anyone attending Pawling Weekend for the first time), in addition to the membership fee.

Memberships are valid from July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026.

Membership applications may be submitted electronically. Applications consist of two parts:

  1. The membership form. Forms can be emailed to the membership secretary (the form is a fillable PDF), mailed (the address is on the form), or given to the membership secretary in person at class.

  2. The membership fee. Fees can be paid online via the buttons below, by check through the mail, or by check or cash in person at class.

Membership Fees

Fees for new members joining in 2026 for the 2025-2026 season are halved. 

$50.00 Single Membership
 $40.00 Young Adult Membership (18–24 years old)
 $25.00 Youth Membership (12–17 years old)
 $15.00 Associate Membership (you must already be a member of another Branch)
 $80.00 Joint Membership (two people residing at the same address who will receive one copy of the magazine)

After you click the button below, you will have the chance to specify whether your donation should go to the Auslander Music Fund, the Joan Treble Scholarship Fund, the Ann Hankins Memorial Scholarship, or teacher fees. If you do not specify where the donation should go, it will go toward general operating funds.
