Guidelines for Choosing Your Class
We have been striving to group attendees in classes that accommodate their needs, and are enjoyable and comfortably challenging for all. We have therefore tried to reorganize class requirements and descriptions (see below). We urge you to give serious consideration to your choice of class. If you are uncertain which class to take, we recommend reaching out to your regular SCD teacher for guidance. Please be aware that the high impact class will require considerable physical stamina.
In all classes there will be an opportunity for individual feedback. If you would welcome feedback please inform the teacher at the beginning of the class.
Thank you.
Class Descriptions
Attendance at SCD classes for a minimum of six months is a prerequisite for all who come to the Pawling Weekend.
Basic and Intermediate Technique
This class is for less experienced dancers. All aspects of Scottish Country Dance technique will be taught and improved, including the execution of steps and knowledge of formations. Basic and intermediate formations (see list below) will be taught or refined as needed. New dances from the vast repertoire of basic and intermediate dances will be introduced.
Low Impact Advanced
This class will be less physically demanding than the high impact class (see below).
